There are thousands of bridges throughout the USA that are in dire need of either repair or replacement. Many face the problem however that the designs are so old it would be more prudent to tear down and replace with modern new bridges built with modern construction methods and machinery. Obama’s suggests congress pass his “Fix-it-First” plan that he set up to try to get people back into the workforce by increasing infrastructure spending. He commented that there are over 100,000 bridges old enough to qualify for Medicare.
A spokesperson from the Department of Transport urged people not to worry as all the bridges are safe and under constant monitoring by the department.
The increase in infrastructure spending should help boost the markets and increase sales for construction machinery and parts.
