Recently, it has been announced a new factory in China will be built in the economic development zone of Xuzhou for Caterpillar parts. This Caterpillar factory will manufacture components for hydraulic excavators and will produce undercarriage components and track assemblies.

Hoping to employ almost 400 people, the factory will be built next to the Caterpillar Xuzhou hydraulic excavator facility. This will prove to be very efficient as the shipment of finished undercarriage components can be sent directly to the excavator factory for final assembly.

President Stu Levenick has spoken of this as a ‘strategic investment’ which aims to capatilise on Caterpillar’s machinery parts presence across Asia.
